Neuroprotective treatments are therapies designed to interrupt the cellular , biochemical , and metabolic injury during or following exposure to ischaemia.Viarious classes of neuroprotective drugs have been studied and some have reached phase III efficacy trials.This article reviews some of the advances of neuroprotective drugs and some mainly used drugs in the protective treatment of acute stroke.
