An Elementary Introduction to the Reinforcing and Reducing of Acupuncture and their Manipulations

针刺补泻及手法,早在《黄帝内经》中已颇多论述。奈因该书殆非一时之言,而所撰述亦非一人之手,故难免其说不一之处。而后世之针家又因所宗之不同且为了追求经文中之某些针刺效应,如针下寒热等。

Based on his clinical practice,the author 1).induced the reinforcing and reducing of acupunctureand their manipulations recorded in Internal Classic;2).explained the signs of the effect of reinforcingand reducing,not necessarily warm or cool sensationappearing;3).quoted as proof the law of heavenand earth,relevant adaptation of the human body tonatural environment,and relationship between theconstitution of patients and the arrival of Qi;and4).said that both three portions and nine pulse-takings and change of symptoms should be taken intoconsideration to determine the effect of acupuncture.
