记者:《安全生产法》的实施引起了社会各界的普遍重视,本刊对此作过多次报道。请您谈一谈当前为什么仍要抓好该法的宣传贯彻工作? 王显政:党的十六大报告强调:“高度重视安全生产,保护国家财产和人民生命的安全。”胡锦涛总书记在十六届三中全会上要求各级党委和政府要牢固树立安全“责任重于泰山”的观点,坚持把人民群众的生命安全放在第一位。这些重要指示,深刻阐述了在社会主义市场经济条件下搞好安全生产工作的重要性。《安全生产法》是我国第一部全面规范安全生产的专门法律,它体现了“三个代表”重要思想。

Mr. Wang Xianzheng pointed out that the State Administration of Work Safety has formulated within this year such normative documents as Administrative Punishment Methods for Violations against Law in the Field of Work Safety, Administrative Punishment Methods of Coal Mines' Safety Supervision and Opinions Regarding the Implementation of Economic Punishment for Violations against Law in the Field of Work Safety, etc. This has played an important role in promoting the work safety supervision and control departments at various levels, coal mine safety supervision organizations and their staff to perform their duties according to law.
