《诗品平议》是陈衍专论钟嵘《诗品》的著作。陈衍对于《诗品》以批驳为主,眼光挑剔。究其原因,陈衍是在以"学人之诗"思想衡评"诗人之诗"之论。《诗品平议》是陈衍"学人之诗"诗学思想的一次评论实践,浸染了清末学术风气,也体现了陈衍自己的诗学追求。

Shipin's Common Discussion in Chen Yan's works is to discuss Zhong Rong's Shipin. Chen Yan discussed Shipin from item to item, which was mainly critical and strict. In fact, Chen Yan was to comment the opinion of Poet's poem with opinion of Scholar's poem. In Shipin's Common Discuss, Chen Yan put his opinion of Scholar's poem in commentary practice. It was affected by Late Qing style of study, and showed his pursuit of knowledge.
