汉英习语中的动物喻体及其联想意义

Animal Vehicles and Their Associative Meanings in Chinese and English Idioms

汉英两种语言中以动物为喻体的习语极其丰富。由于汉英语言所在民族的文化背景、传统习俗及审美情趣等不同 ,这些习语中的汉英动物喻体及其联想意义具有很大的差异 ,本文从中西文化对比的角度对此作一些分类比较。

Both Chinese and English are rich in the idioms in which the vehicle is an animal.Because of the discrepancy between the two languges deriving from the differences of the speakers' cultural backgrounds, traditional customs, and aesthetic interest, the animal vehicles and their associative meanings are often different in English and Chinese idioms. This paper attempts to classify and contrast them through the contrastive analysis of Chinese and Western culture.;
