Analysis of Intrinsic Factors of the Ebb and Flow of Different Types of Democracy in the 20th Century

民主化是20世纪与全球化和现代化相互促进的世界性潮流。从20世纪世界政治发展的历程来看,存在发达资本主义国家、社会主义国家与发展中国家三种不同类型的民主消长兴衰的历史景观。全球化与民族化的互动是其内在动力,政治发展与政治稳定的相互制约是其内在逻辑,社会制度与意识形态的差异和矛盾是其现实因素,东西方文明和文化的冲突与融合是其深层结构。研究不同类型民主消长的内在因素,不仅是国际政治发展的需要,而且对于我国社会主义民主和政治文明建设具有借鉴意义。

Democratization is a world trend in the 20th century, interacting with globalization and modernization. Considering the world political development in the century, there exist three different types of democracy ebbing and flowing in developed capitalist countries, socialist countries and developing countries, the interaction between globalization and nationalization is its internal motive; the mutual constraint of political development and stability is its internal logic; social system and ideological difference and contradiction is its realistic factor; the conflict and convergence between the western and eastern civilizations is its deeper structure. To study the intrinsic factors of the ebb and flow of the different types of democracy is not only the requirement of the international political development, but is of key importance to the socialist democracy and political civilization construction.
