On January 24, 2003 (Beijing time), Chinese Classification Society received a call from L Marine Service Company that a bulk carrier 'G' collided with a containership called 'D' at the Pacific Ocean, 200 miles west to Hawaii of the U.S. The head the 'G' carrier was seriously injured with the cabin flooded with water. The company asked CCS to offer technical help. Finally, CCS helped 'G' arrive at its destination by relying on its advanced technologies and thus won the international appraisal.
