Women images. posted and shaped in the new era in the past 17 years. are neither like the ones in our pre-liberation films. nor like their fellow sisters in Hollywood movies. In fact. films over the past 17 years are not so much about women than about class and revolution. but not in the least about gender. Any woman love stories would be eventually either turned into the subject of heroes or the subjects of political nature. However. the minority women presented in minority movies in the same time period. though still given the role as both the oppressed and the liberated required by the main stream. are comparatively individualistic and independent.
