曾巩在齐州知州任上的一年多时间里,热心文教,钟情泉水,对建设和弘扬济南文化贡献良多,尤其在其名篇《齐州二堂记》中对济南泉水的时空溯源,更表现出他过人的渊博学识和精辟见解,对济南泉水文化研究实有筚路蓝缕之功。

As chief of the Qizhou City in his tenure of more than one year, Zeng Gong had deep concern for developing culture and education and made great contribution to the construction and promotion of Jinan's culture. His historical and geographical source-tracing of Jinan's spring in his famous essay “Notes Taken in Er Tang of Qizhou” especially shows both his outstanding and profound learning and his penetrating views. He really did a great service to cultural studies of Jinan's springs by strenuous efforts.
