Objective To investigate the mechanism of adhesion increase between leucocytes and endothelial cells in ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. Method Expressions of CD11a and CD11b were tested in vitro by Flow Cytometry (FCM) for 42 patients with acute cerebral infarction and 40 healthy subjects as the controls. Results The patient group with acute cerebral infarction showed significantly higher rates for expressions of CD11a on monocytes?granulocytes and lymphocytes(P < 0.05) and the CD11b expression in the patient group was also significantly elevated on monocytes and granulocytes (P < 0.05 ) compared with the control group. But the CD11b expression did not show statistical difference on lymphocytes between cerebral infarction and control groups. Conclusion These indicate that the expressions of CD11a and CD11b on leucocytes are up-regulation in cerebral ischemic damage and adhesion between leucocytes and endothelial cells obviously increases, which may aggravate post-ischemic delayed neuronal death.
