A Further Understanding of the Operation of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in South Jiangsu

研究“太平天国”史料应当尊重史实 ,不以偏概全 ;重新认识“太平天国”在苏南的经营 ,对其失败 ,更应从“太平天国”的自身寻找原因 ,吸取历史教训。对后期的“太平天国” ,应在有所肯定的前提下 ,持基本否定的态度。

Respect should be given to historical facts in the study of historical materials about the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. It won’t do to take a part for the whole. The purpose is to get a further understanding of the operation of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in south Jiangsu in order to draw a historical lesson from its failure, especially the cause of its failure from within itself. With regard to the late stage of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom a basically negative while partly positive attitude is suitable.
