高适入仕前长期流寓宋州,怀才不遇,发而为诗,多愤世之作,风格苍凉悲壮。流寓宋州时期是高适一生中诗歌创作成就最高的时期。
Gao Shi had long been aspirant in Song Zhou before he took official position. His poems are mostly cynical, desolate and solemn. His works reached the climax during his stay in Song Zhou.
