Developing College Students' English Reading Comprehension

英语阅读在英语学习中具有非常重要的作用,然而很多学生存在阅读速度慢,理解力差的问题。分析了当前学生阅读能力差的主要原因,提出改进精读教学,帮助学生扩大词汇量,对学生进行阅读技巧训练,引导学生课外阅读是培养学生英语阅读能力的有效途径。

Reading plays an important role in learning English. Slow reading and poor comprehension, however, often hinders the English learning of many college students. This paper analyses the causes of students?poor reading comprehension and suggests several ways to develop students?ability of reading comprehension: improving the teaching of intensive reading, helping the students enlarge their vocabulary, training the students in reading skills and encouraging the students to read extensively.
