The Function of Catalyst Promoters for Acetic Anhydride Catalysis to Synthesize Monochloroacetic Acid

摘要 The main purpose of this article is to study the function of catalyst promoters, such as SO42-/Fe2O3, SO42-/Fe2O3 supported by active carbon and active carbon plus fuming sulfuric acid, in the reaction between chlorine and acetic acid which used acetic anhydride as catalyst. We found that SO42-/Fe2O3 supported by active carbon has the highest activity among these catalyst promoters in this reaction.To a certain extent, not only the production of MCA and reaction velocity can be raised, but also the production of DCA can be depressed. The main purpose of this article is to study the function of catalyst promoters, such as SO_4^(2-)/Fe_2O_3, SO_4^(2-)/Fe_2O_3 supported by active carbon and active carbon plus fuming sulfuric acid, in the reaction between chlorine and acetic acid which used acetic anhydride as catalyst.
