摘要
以严复翻译的《天演论》为蓝本,考察他在翻译过程中所作的一系列选择:对翻译策略的选择、对翻译语言的选择以及对翻译内容的选择,指出其选择背后的文化动机,揭示了目的语文化对翻译活动的强大干预能力。
Based on the translating of T.H.Huxley's Evolution and Ethics, this paper reviews Yan Fu's choices for the strategy, the language and the content, indicating the cultural intention of the translator. It suggests the mighty intervening power of the target culture in translation practice.
