战后联邦德国首任总理阿登纳反对民族的分裂 ,并为德国的统一进行过努力。然而 ,他的德国统一思想与联邦德国倒向西方的外交战略是一致的。因而 ,他争取统一的努力反而加剧了德国的分裂 ,其原因主要是德国统一的主动权掌握在美苏手中 ,同时也与阿登纳依靠西方、敌视东方的统一政策有关。尽管阿登纳的外交战略使西德获得了主权、复兴以及稳定 ,但其统一政策在当时不可能实现德国的统一。

After the Second World War, Konrad Adenauer, the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, had rejected the national division and worked hard for the reunification. However, his ideas of German reunification were in accordance with the foreign strategy of the Federal Republic of Germany that was close allied with the west. Therefore, What he did for the German reunification aggravated its division on the contrary. The main reason was that it was not the west Germany but the United States and Soviet Union played decisive role in German reunification, at the same time, it was also related to Adenauer's policy which was face to the west and back to the east. After all, although the foreign strategy of Adenauer has been contributed to West Germany that obtained its sovereign, development and stability quickly, it couldn't turn the German reunification into reality at that time.
