Awards for research achievements are of great significance for their role in increasing productivity, facilitating social progress and economic development. Assessment of research achievements should take as the first principle the quality of the research achievements, and be based on a criterion regarding innovation, applicability, and their role in disciplinary development. The assessment of research papers should basically be based on their influence on the academic journals and the ratio of their citation; meanwhile their intrinsic academic value should be stressed.
