科技翻译的灵活性与模式化

科技翻译重原作内容再现决定了其译语表达形式具有一定的灵活性 ,科技文章形式的相对稳定性又决定科技翻译中译语表达形式具有模式化的特征。对此 ,本文提出了科技翻译的准则和策略。

In technical translation, representation of the original meaning is essential and thus makes it necessary for the translator to be flexible in his choice of linguistic forms of the target language. However, technical texts are generally known to display little variation in their textual patterns, which accordingly limits to certain extent the range of linguistic forms available to a translator. Based on an analysis of such requirements, principles and strategies are proposed for translating technical texts between English and Chinese.
