Survey on Seeking Dental Treatment Behavior among Middle-Aged and Elderly in Fujian Province

目的 了解福建省居民口腔疾病的就医行为习惯 ,为卫生行政部门进一步合理分配有限的口腔卫生资源提供依据。 方法 采用多阶段、分层、整群随机抽样的方法 ,以福州市、泉州市、南平市为城市 ,连江、石狮、建瓯为农村 ,选择 35～ 4 4岁、6 5～ 74岁年段男女各 4 0 0人 ,进行口腔疾病就医行为问卷调查。 结果 中老年人近二年口腔保健情况城乡之间差异无显著性 (P>0 .0 5 )。到医院看牙病的次数、因牙病最后一次求医距现在时间、求医的级别、牙龈出血时采取的措施、对牙结石的认识与处理方法、对“如果有龋洞怎么办”的回答城乡之间差异有极显著性 (P<0 .0 1 )。 结论 卫生行政部门需进一步加强农村口腔健康教育 。

Objective To describe seeking dental treatment behavior of middle-aged and elderly in Fujian. Methods Multi-stage, stratified sampling was used to randomly select 800 middle-aged and elderly with female and male ratio about 1∶1. There urban areas selected in Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Nanping, while Lianjiang, Shishi and Jian'ou as rural areas. Information involved to seeking dental treatment and attitudes towards calculus, gingival bleeding and caries, collected by a face-to-face interview conducted by a structured questionnaire that used in the second national oral health survey. Results There was no significant difference on whether to see dentist in recent two years between rural and urban middle-aged and elderly(P>0 05). However, there was difference on visiting dentist times, time elapsed since last seeing dentist for dental problem, rank of hospital visited, measures taken when gum bleeding, attitude towards calculus, and caries between rural and urban adults(P<0 01). Conclusion There is necessary to enhance rural health education level in order to effectively utilize available oral health resources.;
