"改革开放的不断深入要求我国金融市场必须进一步发展,要求我们要适应形势,转变观念,鼓励创新,面向未来。""今后,在金融市场深化的过程中,要加快金融市场产品的开发,鼓励金融产品的创新,进一步满足市场需求,发挥市场在‘价格发现’方面的功能,加强金融企业在金融产品方面的定价能力,没有好的产品和具有较强定价能力的金融机构,金融市场的发展目标难以达到。"

When interviewed by the chinese reporter during the IMF 2004 Annual Meetings,Zhou Xiaochuan,Governor of the PBC aired his view on issues of China's financial macro adjustment and effects,the primary objectives of reform on the RMB exchange rate forming mechanism,progress made in the preparation for improving RMB exchange rate forming mechanism,and further reform on RMB exchange rate forming mechanism.
