摘要
项名达是我国清代后期最著名的数学家之一。本文较全面地介绍了项名达的主要数学思想,如对于数学研究的目标的看法,对高度抽象性的论述,对象数统一性的认识,对有穷与无穷的认识,极限思想和直曲转化思想,对古人和西方数学成就的态度等等,并且初步探讨了这些数学思想与其数学成就的关系。
Xiang Mingda is one of the most famous mathematicians in the late Qing dynasty. This paper mainly discusses his mathematical thought, including his viewpoint of the aim of studying mathematics, expositions on the highly abstract, understanding of space forms and quantity relation as well as of the finite and the infinite, ideas on limit and transformation of line and curve, attitude towards ancient Chinese mathematics and Western mathematics, etc.. The relationship between Xiang's mathematical thought and his successes is also tentatively deal with in the paper.
