中国古代的琼花

琼花系千古名花,古代琼花栽培虽不普遍,但在中国历史上曾是重要的议题。研究众多的文献资料表明,早在隋代以前,扬州己有琼花引种和栽培;各地有关琼花、八仙花与玉蕊花的辩论,众说纷纭,竟有千年之争。根据所描述的性状异同点分析,三者当属同一物种,八仙花、玉蕊花即是琼花。

Qiong Hua is a flowering plant frequently mentioned in ancient Chinese literature. Although it was not widely cultivated in China in ancient times, its real botanical nomenclature and history of cultivation had been important subjects often discussed in the Chinese literature. On the basis of a large number of historical documents, this paper holds that the early possible date of its introduction into Yangzhou was before 619. Qiong Hua, Yurui Hua and Baxian Hua muse belong to the same species.
