摘要
关于中国科学落后的原因,早在17、18世纪,部分来华耶稣会士及欧洲人就曾试图作出解释,他们的看法在西方产生了一定的影响。本文简略分析了早期来华耶稣会士及欧洲人的著作对欧洲科学家的影响;较为详细地论述了法国耶稣会士巴多明关于中国科学落后原因的论述、法国启蒙运动思想家伏尔泰等人对这一问题的看法;对产生不同看法的社会背景给予了解释。
As early as in the 17th and 18th centuries, Europeans and Jesuits coming to China had already pointed out and accounted for the reasons for the backwradnes of Chinese sciences. Their views had a great influence on the European world. This paper gives a detailed description of the French Jesuit D. Parrenin on the backwardness of Chinese sciences. It also analyses the vies of the thinkers of the Enlightenment, and gives some explanations of the social background of the views.
