用符号学的观点解释艺术文化现象,是揭示艺术形式构成和表现特性的途径之一。任何一种艺术符号的主要功能都是对情感信息的传达。声乐艺术由创作实践到审美实践,包含着文学、音乐、歌唱及表演等多元的文化因素,其艺术产生、艺术再现和艺术创造的各个环节,无不体现出多元化文化符号构成的本质属性,从而使之成为一种典型的综合性艺术形式。声乐艺术的综合性艺术特质,或许正是中外声乐艺术最终必然不谋而合地选择了歌剧这种综合性音乐戏剧形式的根本原因。

Using semiotic views to explain artistic cultural phenomenon is one way of revealing its construction and expression. The main function of any sort of artistic symbols is to convey affective information. Vocal art, from creation to aesthetics, contains multi-cultural elemnts like literature, music, singing and performance. Its productions, artistic representation and creation all embody the innate property constituted by plural cultural symbols, hence a typical comprehensive artistic form. This property must lead to the choice of opera——a comprehensive musical dramatic form.
