赵树理以民众接受主体作为创作过程的核心,追求"农民文学家"的路子;而路翎力图表现的是创作主体本身,用接近于现代主义、象征主义的手段,表现出极端非理性的动荡世界。与周立波相比较,赵树理的小说更加通俗化、自然本真,而周立波的小说创作更趋审美提炼、强调艺术性。

Zhao Shuli took his audience as the key to his writing in persuit of an approach of 'a farmer writer', while Lu Lin tried to give a display of himself by depicting an unrational and unpeaceful world in a realistic and symbolic approach. Compared with Zhou Libo who payed more attention to artistic and aesthetic features of his works, Zhao Shuli's novels are more popular and life-like.
