What has "Realism" Brought to Chinese Fine Arts

中国和西方的古典艺术都讲究和谐之美,只是侧重点有所不同。当进入20世纪后,旧的社会机制解体,审美观念变革势在必行。"写实"被引入到中国来,在中国美术史上产生了历史回响。写实手法曾一度在中国美术界一统天下,但人们对于"写实"的认识却不尽相同。新的时代到来后,各类艺术观念和手法纷纷出现,"写实"也终于找到了自己的本体位置。

Both Chinese and western classical arts paid great attention to harmonious beauty, however, on different points. In 20th century, with feudalistic system overthrown, reforms in esthetic concepts were imperative under such circumstances. Thus 'Realism'WT was introduced to China and exerted great effects on the Chinese history of fine arts. Although Realism had ever held a dominating position in the world of fine arts, the understanding of this concept was quite different. With the coming of the new era, various artistic concepts and styles emerging, Realism found its own place in Chinese fine arts.
