后现代主义思想以其极端的反叛性和颠覆性影响全球,这种思想也深深的影响了崛起于90年代的中国"新生代"导演的创作。使他们以"异端"的电影创作吸引了世人的瞩目,在选材、表现形式、审美观念等方面做了新的大胆的创新,从中也看到了传统与现代文化观念同后现代文化理念的激烈碰撞。其间虽然有得有失,但这种探索、追求对中国电影的发展是一个有益的尝试。

Post-modernism, which affects the whole world with its extreme rebelliousness and subversiveness, has influenced the works of Chinese directors of the new generation which sprang up in the 1990s. They have attracted the world's attention with 'unorthodox' movies. They have made bold innovations in such aspects as material choosing, manifestation and aesthetic standards etc., from which one can see the fierce collision between traditional or modern cultural concept and post-modern cultural perception. Although it has losses as well as gains, the exploration and pursuit are valuable attempts for the development of Chinese movies.
