论习语翻译及其译语中的文化缺失现象

On Idiom Translation and the Phenomenon of Cultural Default Involved

由于习语翻译并无定法,导致了同一习语在不同上下文中可能有不同的处理方法。传统的习语译法包括借用、直译、意译等三种基本方式。就习语翻译的目的而言,与其他翻译一样都是从内容与意义上准确实现不同译语间的信息转换。文章通过分析习语的不同译法及其体现的"对等"原则,依据等效翻译理论对习语翻译过程中存在的文化缺失现象作一简要的探讨。

Because of idiom flexible methodology in translation, an adjusting approach has to be found to deal with the difficulty. The traditional approach for idiom translation involves borrowing, literal and free translation. As far as the purpose of the translation is concerned, the fluent understanding to the information conversion between source language and target language must be achieved utmostly both in terms of contents and meanings. This paper tries to explore the phenomenon of cultural default in idiom translation on the basis of 'equivalence' principle.
