语言最重要的社会功能是人际功能,它注重言语者和听话人的相互关系以及言语者对所言的态度。语言的人际关系在于:人们通过它建立并维持了他们在社会中的身份地位。言语者与听话人特定的人际关系决定了言语者选择特定的语言变体完成其交际过程,实现其交际目的。或者说,说话人与听话人的角色变化决定着说话人在语言交际中的言语变体。将从社会情景、教育背景和个性特征方面对语言的人际功能理据进行分析,以期探寻语言符号的人际功能理据。

Interpersonal functions are the most important ones among social functions of language, which put much weight on the mutual relationship between the speaker and the hearer, and on the speaker's attitude. The interpersonal functions of language aim at setting and remaining their social status. The certain interpersonal relationship between the speaker and the hearer determines the changing of the language the speaker uses in order to meet the purpose of his communication. In another word, the changing roles of the speaker and the speaker determine the language changing the speaker uses in communication. This article will make an analyze on the motivations of the interpersonal functions from the angles of social background, educational background and interpersonal features for the sake of researching the motivations of the interpersonal functions of language insignia.
