This paper discusses that it is necessary that the oil-filling and-draining devices are applied to the vertically-mounted motor, illurstrates that draining oil from the upper bearing is possible, and lays emphasis on the construction, functional principle and operation of the oil-filling and-draining devices for upper bearing of flame-proof vertically-mounted motor and the feasibility of flame-proof construction. It has considerable significance to design and practice.
