越南的民间文学历史悠久,内容丰富多彩,是越南早期古代文学的主流和基础。它是越南人民长期以来经验智慧的结晶,是越南民族的宝贵财富,为以后成文文学的发展提供了丰厚的创作源泉。越南民间文学包括:叙事类(传说、故事、寓言、笑话)、抒情类(民歌歌谣、俗语、谜语)和戏剧类(嘲戏)。越南民间文学反映了越南人民丰富、朴素的情感。

As the crystallization of the Vietnamese people's wisdom, Vietnam's folklore has a long history and is rich and colorful in its content. It was the major and basic part of early Vietnamese ancient literature and has become Vietnamese people's invaluable treasure, and is the foundation of and provides rich sources for the later development of the written literature. The main forms of Vietnam's folklore are: narrations (legends, stories, fables and jokes), lyrics (ballads and riddles), and dramas (sarcastic works). It reflects the people's simple but strong feelings.
