A Description of Research on Zaoxiang liangdu jing

《佛说造像量度经》是一部与“梵式”(或称“番式”、“藏式”)佛教绘画和造像的比例、尺度有关的重要经典.这些经典实际上来源于一个习见的婆罗门教传统。自乾隆六年(1741年)工布查布译就之后,中国学者鲜有对它进行深入研究者.本文综述了世界主要学者对此经典及与之相关的梵.藏文经典的研究成果,并就研究中的一些问题表述了自己的观点。

Foshuo zaoxiang liangdu jing (Buddha's manual of sculptural dimensions) is a major treatise for understanding the ratios and measurements used in 'Sanskrit'-style ('foreign' or 'Tibetan'-style) figural painting and sculpture, and these were provided by someone familiar with Indian traditions of religious art. Since the translation into Chinese of the work by Gongbu Chab in 1741, few Chinese scholars have studied the work. In this article summarixing the work of international scholars in studying this classic and Sanskrit and Tibetan treatises, the author presents some original views.
