Comparison Between the Munsell Color Order System and the NCS System

根据对Munsell和NCS两色序系统进行的心理物理实验,在概念和结构上作了对比分析。结果表明两色序系统各有优缺点。Munsell系统的概念和结构较NCS系统易于接受;NCS系统的色调标示方式优于Munsell系统。在色调判读方面,NCS系统准确度较高。误差分析的结论与国外同类实验的结论基本相同,说明这两种系统对中国人来说没有明显的优劣之分。

At present, the Munsell color order system and the NCS system are widly used in the world. In this article, the two systems are compared in concept and structure through psychological and physical experiments. The results show that the two systems have advantages and disadvantages. The concept and structure of the Munsell system are understood easier than that of NCS. However, the hue natation way of NCS is better than that of the Munsell systems, so the NCS hue error is fewer. Conclutions of analysing show uniform basically with the same sort experiments abroad. To the Chinese, it is difficult to say which system is better.
