Deviation is what an author (especially a poet) can/should make full use of in his or her writings. This paper thus seeks to analyze briefly the varieties of deviation at different levels, shows that there is some misreading in translating this particular device because of some deep-rooted aesthetical norm, and points out subsequently that nothing-in-between between a reader and a translated text should not be achieved at the cost of that between a reader and the style of the source text.
