The research history and present status of refractory materials of mold shell for Ti and Ti alloy in investment casting in freign countries were introduced.The developing trend was briefly predicted. The refractory materials have gone through three stages of graphite materials, ceramic materials with W coating layer and V_2O_3 ceramic materials.
