现代生物技术,涉及农业生物技术和医药生物技术两大领域。我国以作物遗传育种为代表的农业生物技术取得了较大进展,在农业中获得广泛应用。同时,农业生物技术知识产权保护工作也不断加强。如今,生物技术知识产权保护成为各国确保技术领先、占领生物技术制高点的重要手段。

Modern biotechnology covers two major areas of agricultural biotechnology and medical biotechnology. China's agricultural biotechnology, represented by crop genetic breeding, has had a considerable development and has been widely applied in agriculture. Meanwhile, increasingly greater efforts have been made in China to protect the intellectual property rights in agricultural biotechnology, which has become the major measure for every country to maintain its advantages in biotechnology.
