人们喜欢用"内圣外王"来表达儒家的理想人格,概括儒家的人生哲学。"内圣外王"在中国传统文化中,不仅具有人格意义,而且还具有政治理想的含义,所体现的是既内在而又超越之旨。应予以批判与继承,至今它对"安身立命"具有一定的意义。

The Chinese saying'being an inner sage so as to rule the outer world' is often used to express Confucian ideal moral integrity and to generalize Confusian philosophy of life. In traditional Chinese culture, this saying is not only of moral integrity sense but of political ideal significance, and what is reflected in this saying is a mixture of internal and over-internal wish.
