Fourteen species of the genus Athlophorus Burmeister have been recorded from China, in which 4 species are described as new to science: A. huangae Wei et Nie, sp. nov., A. hyalopterus Wei et Nie, sp. nov., A. infuscatus Wei, sp. nov. A. wangae Nie et Wei, sp. nov., A. pilifrons (Cameron), A. caprae Forsius, A. mimicarius Malaise and A. gracilis (Konow) are recorded for the first time from China. A key to the known species of the genus from China is given. Type specimens are deposited in the Insect Collection of Central South Forestry University, Zhuzhou, China (CSFU) and the Insect Collection of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China (IZAS).Athlophorus huangae Wei et Nie, sp. nov. (Figs.1-7) This new species is close to A. curtinervis Malaise, but differs from the latter in the head shining and impunctate, the first abdominal tergite impunctate and without microsculptures, the mesoscutellum with distinct middle carina, the postocellar area 1.5 times longer than broad, the flagellum of antenna and the abdominal tergites 3 and 4 black, tergite 5 and the basal 2/3 of hind tibia pale yellow. The new species is distinguishable from the other species of the genus by the head impunctate, head and thorax reddish brown, abdomen black with 2 yellow rings, and the vein R+M of fore wing as long as 1r-m. Holotype ♀, Yu′ao, Mt. Fanjing, Guizhou, 900*!m, 2 Aug. 2000, CHEN Ming-Li, HUANG Ning-Ting; paratypes: 3♀♀, Yu′ao, Mt. Fanjing, Guizhou, 900*!m, 2-3 Aug. 2000, CHEN Ming-Li, HUANG Ning-Ting; 1♀, Mt. Fanjing, Guizhou, no other data; 1♀, Taoyuandong, Yanling, Hunan, 20 May 1995, ZHENG Bo-Yi; 1♂, Taoyuandong, Yanling, Hunan, 900-1*!000*!m, 24 Apr. 1999, WEI Mei-Cai (CSFU).Athlophorus hyalopterus Wei et Nie, sp. nov.(Figs.8-10) This new species is similar to A. alfkeni (Forsius) and A. bandatus Saini et al. But the new species differs from A. alfkeni in the third to fifth antennal segments reddish brown, head dorsally and mesepisternum strongly and coarsely punctured, and the hind tarsus black. It differs from A. bandatus in the third to fifth antennal segments reddish brown, head dorsally strongly and coarsely punctured, malar space as long as the diameter of an ocellus, and frons not depressed. Holotype ♀, Baoshan, Yunnan, 22 July 1979, LIU Guo-Qing (CSFU).Athlophorus infuscatus Wei, sp. nov.(Figs.11-15) This new species is close to A. placidus (Konow) but is distinguished from the latter by the abdominal tergite 4 without a white band, sheath much narrower and acuter in lateral view, wings strongly infuscate, serrulae low and long with about 20 outer subbasal teeth. This new species differs from the other species of the genus in wings evenly and strongly infuscate. Holotype ♀, Wenquan, Yunnan, 11 Apr. 1940 (IZAS); paratype 1♂, Qingyinge, Mt. Emei, Sichuan, 800-1*!080*!m, 29 May 1957, HUANG Ke-Ren (IZAS).Athlophorus wangae Nie et Wei, sp. nov.(Figs.16-18) This new species is close to A. graciloides Malaise, but is different from the latter in the slender antenna with the sixth segment hardly broader than the third segment, the coarsely and densely punctured frons and inner orbits, the reticulately punctured mesepisternum without distinct interspaces, the abdominal tergite 4 without a pale band, the female serrulae with more and finer subbasal teeth, and the very narrow basal annular spine band. This new species is also similar to A. meghalayaensis Saini et Singh, but the latter has the propodeum with shallow and dense punctures, the second tergite microsculptured, clypeus much shallowly incised, POL∶OOL∶OCL=10∶31∶39, the fourth abdominal tergite with pale band, the basal 1/3 of the fourth antennal segment white, and the basal serrulae with 8-9 outer subbasal teeth. Holotype ♀, Qingyinge, Mt. Emei, Sichuan, 19 July 2001, WEI Mei-Cai (CSFU); paratypes: 1♀, Jinsha, Chishui, Guizhou, 500*!m, 20-23 Sept. 2000, XIAO Wei (CSFU); 1♀, Qingyinge, Mt. Emei, Sichuan, 8 May 1957, HUANG Ke-Ren (IZAS).
