作为一种民间的影视行为,DV使普通人能够将看到的现实即时地记录下来,成为一种完全个人的生活记录和观念表达的方式。DV纪录片往往关注社会里最普通的老百姓,特别是一些处于中心以外的边缘群体,展现他们的生存环境和生活状态。而DV作品在电视台节目中的出现,也表明主流媒体对DV纪录这一民间话语方式的不愿忽视。

DV, as a kind of folk film-television, can record immediately ordinary peoples reality, thus becoming a form of noting down their individuals both in lives and ideas. Very often, DV documentary concerns about the most ordinary people in the society, especially marginal group away from the center, and displays their surviving environment and living condition. The fact that TV stations broadcast DV shows the attaching importance to DV of mainstream media.
