After Chinas accession to WTO, foreign commercial banks began to enter China gradually. This does not only bring Chinese commercial banks opportunities of development but also challenges, especially in nontraditional banking activities. This paper states the necessity and restrictive elements for the development of nontraditional banking of Chinese commercial banks and discusses the strategies of promoting nontraditional banking.
