As a new DSL technology, VDSL becomes more and more attractive due to its high speed, low cost and widely application. This paper firstly introduces the background of emergence of VDSL. Then this paper detailedly introduces VDSL technology and its characteristic. At last this paper shows the existing application of VDSL and evolution situation of VDSL standards.
