The Sustainable Utilization of Land Resources under the Regional Coordination among Population, Resources, Environment and Development(PRED) in China

进入新世纪以来,我国区域发展的背景发生了一些根本性的变化,其中长远发展战略观念已经明显增强,特别是可持续发展观念的提出和贯彻,增强了人们对人口(P)、资源(R)、环境(E)和发展(D)之间的协调关系的重视程度,追求战略的观念和长远的效益将逐步成为现代主流意识.

With the rapid expanding of population, the excessively mining of resources, the worsening of environment, the regional coordination among population growth, resources utilization, environmental protection, and the eco-social development is getting more and more important, in which the sustainable development of resources should be emphasized, especially land resources. The current situation of land resources is that farmland areas is decreasing, the overall quality of land resources poor, land utilization ratio and farmland productivity low, and land resources wasted heavily. To realize the sustainable utilization of land resources, four relations should be dealt with correctly, that is, the utilization and protection of land resources, utilization structure and productivity of farmlands, land use and protection, self-development and investment from outside, improving outside environmental conditions and increasing the productive capacity of farmlands.
