Based on a comparison of soil and hydrogeochemical characteristics between the liver cancer area and the surrounding normal area, in combination with the human landscape of the liver cancer area, this paper deals tentatively with the pathogeny of the liver cancer in Shende area. An analysis shows that the major factor responsible for the liver cancer seems to be the abnormally high content of NH^+4, NO^-2, NO^-3 in water of the liver cancer area.
