Transportability is the inherent capability and the design capability of equipment, and is an important factor which influences equipment's mobility and the lift cycle cost. Transportability involves the equipment's development, transport condition, transport environment and so on. To raise the equipment's transportability is generally in developing stages. Based on the theory and method of system engineering, the paper puts forward the main contents and direction of transportability research.
