The enormous development has been obtained about high power laser technique, the generation practical weapon system will soon be carried out.The paper analyzes the creation route of the high power laser, and the effect mechanism of the laser weapon. Airplane-based laser weapon,vehicle-based laser weapon, space-based laser weapon, earth-based laser weapon, warship-based laser weapon are introduced and evaluated. The up-to-date progress of laser weapon technology are reflected. It increases the control and the understanding of the new concept weapon.
