世纪之交“官场小说”热潮的历史文化缘由

Inquiring about the Historical and Cultural Reasons for the Upsurge of the Officialdom Novels in the Alternation of Two Centuries

世纪之交的中国文坛形成了一股“官场小说”的热潮。从整个20世纪的中国文学进行考察,“官场小说”可以说是百年文学中官场叙事传统在新的时代境遇中的延续和发展。一方面,权力异化而导致的官场腐败与自由宽松的话语氛围为它的兴盛提供了契机和条件;另一方面,作为现实主义文学的“官场小说”是知识分子在当下社会对自身角色的确证,对中国现代化进程中的现代性批判与建构的积极参与。

There is an upsurge of the officialdom novels in China's literary circles in the alternation of two centuries. This article first arranges the conditions at that time about the phenomenon, and then reveals the reasons for the upsurge after seeing it through the whole 20th century's Chinese literature. Its popularity lies in the tradition of officialdom narration which develops in the new circumstances in the whole century's literature. On one hand, officialdom corruptness causes by power dissimilation and free discourse ambience provided the chances and conditions; on the other hand, the officialdom novels as a realism literature are certifications of intellectuals in those conditions, reflect the social reality based on economy, and participate in the modern criticism and construction in the process of China's modernization.
