History is the best teacher. In the perspective of history, to start with The Historical Records(Shiji) by Sima qian, this paper employs comparison and contrast device and makes an analysis of professional similarities between a historian and a journalist in knowledge constituents, professional ethics, report thought, and writing style. And what's more, in the perspective of historical reflection, this paper offers some thoughtful opinions on the commonplace topic, that is, journalist's competence.
