The inclusion of a journal in a retrieval system is helpful to widening the spreading scope, enhancing the renown and raising the academic standing of the journal, and then to attracting more readers and authors, and gaining access of high quality contributions. The inclusion of a journal in key retrieval systems is an important indicator in the evaluation of the academic quality and standing of the journal. After studying the current situation of civil engineering and architectural journals in the inclusions of 《Ei》 and including systems in China, the strategies for the development of this sort of journals are put forward.
