Comment on China's Biographies Written in New Period

我国新时期传记文学成就巨大,无论是作品的数量还是质量,都达到了前所未有的高度。从作品的题材角度和传主的身份特征入手,将其分为走下神坛的政坛军界领袖、成就斐然的文化名人、功勋卓著的科学家等六大类别,对其进行了系统的回顾、整合与梳理,并就不同类别作品所表现出的共性与个性特征进行了评述。

In the new period of China's reform and opening-up, the biographical writings achieved unprecedented success in either quality or quantity. Viewed from the subjects selected and identities of the persons who were described in those biographs, these works can be divided into six categories, such as the historically political/military figures of whom the mysterious veils had been uncovered, cultural celebrities and distinguished scientists, with a review done systematically to place them in categories. Their distinct features are commented from general and individual characters.
