文学翻译中的制约因素及译者策略

Constraining Factors in Literary Translation and the Translator's Strategies

文学翻译是一个复杂的过程 ,从语言层面上对比两个文本的传统做法并不能揭示这一复杂过程。本文提出 ,应该分析制约文学翻译的意识形态和文学传统方面的因素 ,以及译者在选择翻译策略时对翻译目的、译入语文化的地位和读者审美期待的定位。这种研究有助于我们正确认识译文 。

Literary translation is a complicated process, which cannot be revealed by the traditional approach of linguistic comparison between the two texts. This paper proposes that the following factors should be taken into consideration: the constraining factors of ideology, literary tradition, the translator's understanding of the purpose of translation, the position of the target culture and the readers' aesthetic expectation. Such study helps us understand the translation work correctly and describe and comment on the existing translating practice objectively.
